Designs of steatite, manufacturer and highly supply reliable technology for use in harsh conditions where failure is not a possibility. Steatite, which operates in the US and the UK, takes care of a wide range of customers, from small and medium -sized enterprises and government organizations to large multinational companies.
Problem:
The older company system, highly adapted to On-Pémises ERP, has become an increasingly complicated agreement of Jonathan Jackson, the Steate Operational Director. The system has evolved with various iterations from Vantage to Epicor and the volume of its own code made it difficult to update and resource -intensive.
Solution:
By moving to the cloud, Steatite has tried to solve its operating challenges while unlocking access to innovative features that occur exclusively through the cloud version of the Epicor Kinetic. “Epicor’s development route was a point for us,” says Jackson. “The remaining participants risked receiving while moving to the cloud, making sure we stayed with the latest and safest product.”
In addition, steatite growth required a robust and scalable solution. With other business units located in various places, some of which lacked technical capacity, the cloud offered reliable access from multiple places. The cloud solution based on all these requirements, streaming on board new sites and users, and eliminates complexes that once prevented expansion efforts.
Moving to the cloud was designed to ease the burden on the IT team steatit. With the growing base of employees, updating, advances, and licensing, the sources that Ben Berer would use for strategic projects consumed. By consolidating these cloud processes, the IT team focused on the steatite to prefer innovation and long -term improvements and moved from routine maintenance to strengthening operations.
Challenges:
But it was completely simple sailing. To move from a high-end system to a cloud ERP, steatite needed to streamline its current system to a “vanilla version” that would work with a new SQL cloud database. It was essential that they maintain the basic functions when reducing the product.
In addition, the creation of new elements of the interface was another challenge. “We had to develop new forms, messages and dashboards from scratch using different tools and environments,” Jackson explains.
Migration to the cloud meant accepting new tools and environment, time and specialized knowledge. In order for navigation, Epicor assigned a dedicated project manager to work with the internal team of Steatite and provide continuous support during the migration process. This cooperation ensured that all the operational requirements we have inserted favored requirements and downtime reduction.
Migration was phased for six months, with careful planning and implementation for testing, piloting, training and introduction. “This structured approach reduced the transition and ensured that employees were ready to use the new system efficiently,” Jackson reports.
Result:
Steatite was very fined from the transition to the cloud, which eventually transformed its business and IT operations.
“The biggest benefit is to reduce the burden for our advances and recovery management. There is no need to spend time on patch and rebuilding, because it will take care of it centrally,” Jackson shares. This allows him to focus on growth rather than routine maintenance.
Scalabibility has also improved, flowing on board and facilitating expansion. “We know that the system is flexible enough to meet other requirements from new sites or employees, the appearance for renting or available bandwidth, which makes it easier and facilitates the deck,” Jackson notes. “Having everyday functionality placed in the cloud and centrally managed works very well for a company like Bear, which is understood by very different business units with unique requirements operating around the world.”
Another significant progress was safety. Multi -factor authentication and other safety technologies are integrated into the cloud system, which ensures adherence to industry standards such as ISO and CEP. According to Jackson Steatite, “He has achieved the same level of security in the cloud, as we always expect from the first platform.”
Predictive maintenance controlled and was also made possible through the integration of the cloud. This function allows business to extend the lives of assets, shorten downtime and actively managerial equipment – all necessary to maintain reliability in harsh conditions.
Has Platform prepared for the future
With the continued support of Epicor and the robust cloud infrastructure, Steatite is now well placed for long -term growth and innovation. The organization reduced overhead, increased second and included operational efficiency by switching to a simplified scalable cloud solution. Business has created a solid foundation for its future by changing and dealing with obstacles, with both inventive and competitive.
Asked if they are considering returning to the on-premise system, Jackson’s answer Aquivocal: “No, thank you!”
