Oracle talks to the Indonesian government about the establishment of the cloud service center on the island of Batam, according to people with discussions.
This step reflects Oracle’s efforts to extend the presence of a data center in Southeast Asia.
According to BloombergObviously, the company looks at the Nongsa digital park in Batam as a potential place. The status of the free shop of the park, the proximity of Singapore and Malaysia and the existing data center infrastructure makes it an attractive option. Batam also has access to 13 international cables with optical fibers that connects them to Indonesia, Singapore and the West Coast of the United States. Discussions are still ongoing and may change depending on different factors, sources said.
NEITH ORACLE Coordination Minister and Indonesia responded to requests for comment.
Strategic rental and infrastructure
Digital Park Nongsa has become a center for data infrastructure thanks to its strategic rental and well developed connection. The park supports its reliable power, high security and stable seismic conditions as an advantage for data centers operations. Private Equity Equity Form Gaw Capital Partners has recently opened a data center there, which further strengthened the dismissal of the website for cloud services.
Batam’s rent near Singapore, the main Fincyte and the Technology Center, increases its attractiveness. Oracle is already operating two cloud computing centers in Singapore and announced last year’s plans to invest $ 6.5 billion in a similar facility in Malaysia. Oracle extensions would provide Oracle the presence in the key region for cloud and AI, while benefiting from the growing digital economy of Indonesia.
Incising Investments in AI and Cloud Services
Global demand for AI and cloud infrastructure causes increased investment throughout Asia. American technology companies, including META and Google, quickly built data centers in the region to support the growth of AI services. Salesforce recently announced an investment of $ 1 billion in Singapore to expand its cloud infrastructure.
According to Bain & Co. By 2027, the AI -related product -related market could reach $ 990 billion, as AI adoption is transforming industries and business operations worldwide. This growing requirement calls on technology companies to create a reliable cloud infrastructure on strategically placed markets such as Southeast Asia.
Oracle’s expansion to Batam would put it on capitalization in the area of increasing and cloud computing capacity in the region. The proposed center could help Oracle increase its position on the competing cloud service market in Southeast Asia, where companies such as Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud are already active.
Complete landscape
Southeast Asia has become a central point for cloud and infrastructure. Malaysia and Singapore with their strong IT sectors have an attractive investment. Oracle’s Entnnation to Batam would diversify its track and provide it with a strategic advantage by providing services on the growing market in improving digital infrastructure.
While the details of potential agriculture remain uncertain, this step emphasizes the growing importer of Southeast Asia as a center for cloud and AI development.
